Applications Overview
Axela’s family of products is designed to accelerate the transition between biomarker discovery to clinical validated tests for disease diagnosis and monitoring. Our instruments and consumables are based on unique flow through technologies that will improve the efficiency of performing routine multiplex assays. Using the Axela’s technologies researchers will be able migrate their protein and genetic biomarkers from complex, discovery platforms onto robust, easy to use platforms suitable for supporting the next generation of clinical research.

The dotLab mX
With the dotLab mX System, researchers are able to conduct real time, multiplex immunoassays that can provide valuable insights on assay parameters and performance. Its unique flow-through sensors enable multiple assays to be combined into a single, automated assay through the use of sequential probing of analytes and with our panelPlus multiplex sensors, thereby saving time and sample. Its picomolar sensitivity and extended dynamic range of detection (> 7 logs) enable the analysis of both high and low abundance analytes without the need to perform sample dilutions. Its high flexibility also allows users to customize their biomarker panels with content that is specific to their particular areas of research. These features, together with its ability to handle crude biological samples, make the dotLab mX System an ideal platform for a variety of applications in protein and clinical research.
The Ziplex Automated Workstation
The unique flow-through microarray technology of the automated Ziplex Workstation will appeal to researchers requiring a simple-to-use and high throughput tool to translate gene and protein expression signatures from discovery platforms into validated tests. While the initial discovery work is often performed on global expression arrays, the Ziplex allows for the investigation of a subset of target biomarkers by microarray analysis. The result is a rapid and highly flexible system capable of performing routine assays that provides researchers with only the relevant data for their clinical validation studies. The speed and flexibility of the Ziplex System combined with its robustness and ease of use make it ideal for qualified institutions interested in validating their own Laboratory Developed Tests. Direct applications of the Ziplex System include: 1) genomics research in cancer, inflammation and general theranositc applications; and 2) proteomics research for targeted discovery, infectious diseases (e.g., antigen screening and antibody arrays), and biomarker analysis.
